The Morrisons Foundation has donated to registered charities since 2015, making a difference to millions of people across England, Scotland and Wales. The Foundation aims to make a positive difference to people's lives with special consideration for vulnerable and disadvantaged groups.

Connecting Communities Grant Funding

The Connecting Communities grants offer funding to charities who provide place-based services to an entire community or specific groups. Funding is available to support capital projects that:

• Breathe new life into local spaces: upgrade and revitalise buildings and outdoor areas.
• Bring people together: reduce social isolation and foster a strong sense of belonging.
• Secure the future: ensure vital local services remain open and accessible for generations to come.

Match Funding

The Morrisons Foundation matches funds raised by Morrisons colleagues for registered charities. Colleagues must complete their fundraising and pay the funds raised to the charity before applying. The Foundation will match up to £1,000 per colleague per application.

Who can apply

Registered charities are eligible to apply.

For the Connecting Communities grant, applicants must:

• own the property where the project is being delivered or hold a long-term lease with a minimum of three years remaining,
• have at least one set of accounts filed with the relevant charity regulator.

The Foundation prioritises applications from smaller charities with an income of less than £1 million, though applications from larger charities are also welcome.

For Match Funding, applications must be submitted by a current Morrisons colleague who was employed by Morrisons both at the time of the fundraising and at the time of the application. The fundraising must be for a registered charity.

When to apply

There is no fixed deadline for either scheme. Connecting Communities grant applications are processed on a rolling basis. For Match Funding, colleagues should apply within three months of transferring funds to the recipient charity.
